Welcome to Walkies with Taryn

How my love of animals started 🙂

I’ve always had an incredible love of animals. No matter what species – dogs, horses, cats, alpacas, dolphins, otters, whales, etc. – I’ve had a great respect and love for animals. Growing up in the suburbs of Palo Alto, I was surrounded by nature. Through an incredible forest of green, no streetlights, and clear, starry skies, my love for nature and animals grew as I did. While my family had dogs, our neighbors had cats, horses, and sheep, one friend had a pair of donkeys, and another friend’s family had a whole menagerie. 

A family of animal lovers

My sisters and I were so lucky to have grown up with dogs, specifically English Bull Terriers, aka the Spuds MacKenzie dogs. Our parents were raised with dogs – English Mastiffs, Bull Terriers, Great Danes, Dalmatians, and Poodles – and we were surrounded by puppy love from birth. Over the past decade and a half, my family members have had Rhodesian Ridgebacks, Golden Retrievers, English Mastiffs, mutts, Husky mixes, Malteses, mini poodles, English Bull Terriers, and Dachshunds.

Lulu and Angie, my childhood dogs, were my first loves. Angie is the inspiration for my logo – as a tri-colored English Bull Terrier, she always stood out. This job has been decades in the making, and I love my job. I love that I get to be with dogs every day, all day. Dogs and cats are the purest form of love that we have in our everyday lives. 

Not only have I lived with dogs for most of my life, but I have also been caring for them since I was 13 years old. Whether we’re at the park, on a walk or hike, relaxing on the couch, or playing in the yard, we have an amazing time! I work to make them safe and happy, especially when pet-sitting. My experience is vast, and I am capable of caring for dogs of all sizes and ages, and cats. Whether they want to run around and are super high energy or would rather cuddle and be a little lazier, I’m happy if they’re happy. 

Every animal that I care for is unique and, as such, their care should be. At Walkies with Taryn, our pet care is unique and tailored to your pet! They will be surrounded with love and so happy with me 🙂

WHAT AREAS DO I SERVE?

I live in Shoreline, north of Seattle, and work in that 20-mile area. My areas of service outside of Seattle include Shoreline, Lynnwood, Mountlake Terrace, Brier, Edmonds, Bothell, Kenmore, and Kirkland. Seattle neighborhoods that I serve include Queen Anne, Ravenna, Wedgewood, Green Lake, Maple Leaf, and Windermere.

I’m licensed, bonded, and insured. I am CPR & First Aid certified, and am currently in training to be a certified Fear Free Professional. Don’t hesitate to contact me for proof of insurance and CPR / First Aid certification.
